Tuesday
"Bailongo De
Los Martes"
at the "The Tango Room"
9:00 PM - Midnight
A
space to dance or socialize with one
hundred of your best Tango friends.
Whether you are into milonguero,
tango nuevo, or simply want
to pick up a few moves, the bailongo
(a place to dance in the
Argentinean slang called lunfardo) has
all the elements to make for a highly
satisfying night of tango: a variety
of styles and levels, a number of good
dancers (with a decent gender balance)
willing to dance with everyone, and
a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
The
night is DJ'd by Edmundo, who brings
a wealth of knowledge and good taste
to the rare and fine art of playing
great, danceable tangos, milongas and
vals from the 30's through today.

Nominations
Now Open
The
purpose of the awards are to recognize
and honor those members of the Tango community

to the strength and vibrancy of Tango
in the Southern California Area. The nominees
and winners of these awards are selected
by that most demanding and knowledgeable
of juries: you, the members and peers

The
process of selection is simple: everyone
who wishes can nominate three candidates
in the five categories listed below. The
votes for the nominees will be counted
after the nominating deadline. The three
persons receiving the most votes become
the official nominees or candidates. Then
the tango community selects the winner
